'Tis the season.....

"Tis the season to be busy!!! We had a busy, but fun Thanksgiving week. We took Gage to the Polar Express on Wednesday night. It is one of his favorite movies and I just knew he would love it! We have been meaning to go for a few years now, but just didn't make it until this year. I left Gavin behind so we could focus just on Gage. Gage was so excited to go to the North Pole and to ride the magic train! He has so many questions that it takes a lot of creativity on my part to keep the magic alive for this boy. He just couldn't understand why this train didn't get to ride over ice, or up a big mountain, or over a bridge. Gage wanted his ride to be EXACTLY like the one in the movie. Although, it is not like the movie, Gage still had a great time. They start out with the thickest hot chocolate you have ever tasted, (I swear it was straight Chocolate syrup) and a cookie. Then they read to you the Polar Express Book. Then we made it to the North Pole, where Santa boarded the train. Gage does not like talking to Santa, so Santa said he would bring Gage a surprise. This makes me happy considering Gage doesn't know what he wants for Christmas! Each kid got to talk to Santa and everyone sang songs on the way back. It was nice to spend the night with Gage!

Then on Thursday we spent Thanksgiving at my Mom's house. It was a nice day! It gets harder ever year with the kids, but it is nice to be together as a family! Thanks Mom and Dad for a very Yummy dinner!Jeff and Gage

Then on Saturday we went shopping for our Christmas tree, it gets harder with kids to find the perfect tree, so it came down to picking the best one at the lot. It is an O.K. tree, but not the perfect tree. As we decorated it, Gavin undecorated it! In fact it took us all day to decorate the house for Christmas and it is still not done! It is just big mess right now! And with Gavin this year I don't know how many decorations will last the next couple of weeks!

Today the boys wore their new Christmas church clothes! Very handsome boys! If they only acted as innocent as they look in this picture!
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. So far we have enjoyed it!

Life as I knew it is now over......

Gavin has climbed out of his crib 2 days in a row now!! I thought I was going to keep him in the crib even when the baby got here! But he had other plans. Yesterday morning he came walking in my room with a HUGE smile on his face. I was in shock! He has never even tried to climb out! And yes, he did it again this morning! I just pray that it doesn't come down to fights at nap time because he knows how to get out of his bed! I have horrible memories of Gage not willing to take a nap! He would just walk right back out of his room over and over!!
But now the dilemma, what do I do? I don't want him to get hurt trying to climb out, I don't want to put the crib into a daybed just to turn around in two months and give the crib to the baby. Do I put Gage and Gavin together now? I had planned on waiting until after Christmas to put them together. I just can not in my wildest dreams imagine them sharing a room, let alone a bed!!! But I also don't think I can put Gage's full bed and the extra twin bed in one room. Any way we do it I think we are headed for a nightmare! Any suggestions?

Victory is sweet!!

Victory is so sweet!! We had such a great time at the game last night! It is always a thriller playing BYU! Especially if you have done too much trash talking during the week!! But it has been a great season to be a UTE! We have gone undefeated, we are now Mountain West Conf. Champions, and will be going to a BCS bowl! Go Utes!

My crazy family was down there somewhere!! Including my husband! But I didn't think it wise to run down there when I am pregnant! Besides there were plenty of times during the game I thought I was going to go into labor!! Pregnant people loose out on all the fun! (I even missed the drunk, buck-naked lady in the bathroom!)

Baby Brooke made it home last week! She is doing well and is a very cute little thing!

Christmas party

My dad's side of the family had their Christmas Party last weekend. I worked, so once again there is a lack of pictures. But it seems like my boys had a good time. They had pancakes, hit pinatas and had a doughnut eating contest. This is also the first year that Gage participated in the nativity scene. Gavin was not too thrilled to be a little lamb! Maybe in a couple of years!

Well the rest of this week has been exciting! I just have no pictures to show for it!
The most exciting news is that Ty and Jill had baby Brooke on Wednesday! She was a little early, so only weighed in at 4 pounds 11 ounces and 17.5 inches long. I think that makes her big brother Jackson almost three times her size and he is only 3 months old. She is doing well though! She is off oxygen and is taking a little bit of a bottle! I got to take a sneak peak at her on Friday! She is very cute! We can't wait for her to come home! I don't have any pictures of her because I didn't think I would be able to see her, so I wasn't prepared.



Then on Thursday, we witnessed the most incredible BLACK OUT!! Well, I should say the last five minutes of the black out were INCREDIBLE! We went to the football game and everyone wore black. We played TCU and pulled out the win in the last few minutes! (wait isn't that the team BYU LOST to?!) That puts us undefeated 10-0!!! Bring on those Cougs!

Friday night was a girls night out up at Park City. We went to dinner and slept over night, then went shopping on Saturday! It was nice to not worry about kids, and get to know some of the girls in the neighborhood I don't know very well!

This is a VERY random post, but first off Amy tagged me with 4th file, 4th picture
This is Gage and Caleb at Thanksgiving Points Easter Egg hunt! They look so little!

Secondly, yesterday was just an odd day. We had an earthquake drill at work and I was carrying dummies to the morgue. A little disturbing! But when I came home, my Mom had done my laundry and vacuumed my house! I just can't thank her enough for everything she does for our family!

Third, my sister-in-law is in the hospital today about to deliver her baby girl. The baby is only 35 weeks, so pray that all goes well with Jill and the baby!

Fourth, I finally took Gage to HSM 3 today. He said, "it was totally awesome" We are HSM fans in our house. Gage and my saying is "we're all in this together!" Isn't that the truth.

Fifth, I voted today! I was the ONLY person there! A bit odd when you see on the news others are standing in line for hours in other states! Now that I finally made up my mind on who to vote for, I don't think they are going to win. Bummer.

Trick-or-Treat

We had an excellent Halloween. Gage had been counting down the days to his preschool Halloween Party. He had a great time at it, except for the fact that they didn't play any games as he was quick to point out. We then went to my Mom's house for some very YUMMY soup. Gage was so excited to go Trick-or-Treating. He did well this year, it is fun when they really get the idea of Trick-or-Treating. Gavin LOVED the candy, and the Haunted House next door. He would laugh at other people getting scared! After Gage was done Trick-or-Treating, he had a great time handing out the candy. He would stand out on the porch and yell,"who wants some candy??!!" We had a great time, but I am Halloweened out! Bring on the HOLIDAYS! The sooner those are over the sooner I am no longer pregnant!!


Gavin thought his new Trick-or-Treat bucket was a hat and wore it around the house all day. Now that he has gone trick-or-treating, he asks if he can have a snack from his hat!
