IT'S A............

Yeah!! We are so excited! I asked the lady doing the ultrasound if she was sure it was a girl, because it was just so hard to believe. Now the fun begins.....shopping, shopping, shopping. We will be setting up a fund at the local bank under baby girl Decker. 100% of proceeds will go to bows, leggings, bracelets, dresses, and anything pink!!

Caramel apples

Tonight we made caramel apples! YUMMY!! Gavin cracks me up! He is a freak when it comes to sweets! I wonder where he got that from? He was in heaven tonight!! When I put the finished apples in the fridge to cool he started bawling!! And he finished off the bowl of extra Oreo crumbs! Gage was able to do his apple all by himself. But when it came time for us to eat one tonight, Gage of course chose Jeff's. I don't think Jeff scraped any of the caramel off after dipping, and instead of dipping 3/4's of the apple he dipped the entire apple!! It was very tasty though!! We had a lot of fun with very little crying. I consider that a success! Sorry, there are a lot of pictures, but it was really cute to watch the boys dip their apples!

P.S here are some pictures I took of Gage for his second soccer game! At least he is smiling and his hair is combed!

Gage's first soccer game

Gage had his first ever soccer game yesterday. I was still unsure whether he would really play, or pout on the sideline. But he played and he loved it. I had to work and I missed it. It makes me really sad, especially because I left Jeff in charge of taking pictures! I drilled it into his head to get pictures! The results were somewhat disappointing. First off he didn't even comb his hair, and second he let him be goofy and didn't take one good picture! So here are a few of the pictures I do have, if anyone else got anything better, send them my way!

Gavin's 18 month stats

Gavin had his 18 month check up on Monday. He went up in height and weight percentiles, but remained about the same for his head! I guess he may just always have a small head; well, unless Gage pushes him off the kitchen table chair head first onto the tile! Oh wait, Gage did that last night and now Gavin has a very nice goose egg to show for it! So I have been meaning to take a picture of Gavin for this post, but now I will pass. It is a good thing Gavin likes hats because he has been wearing one all day to cover up his forehead!
Weight: 27pounds 13 ounces (72%)
Height: 33 inches (68%)
Head: 46.5cms (20%)

Curtis Family FHE

So for FHE I thought I would take the boys up the canyons for some smores. But it is always funner to have more people, so I invited my family with us. We roasted some hot dogs, made some smores, the boys threw rocks in the river, and Gavin got in the river a few times! Over all we all had a good time and it was nice to get up in the canyons for awhile. THe only downfall.....stinky, smokey clothes!!

Football begins......and much more!!

I hate to see summer come to an end, but at least we have football to look forward to. I went to the first UofU home game last night with some of my family. (Thanks to my wonderful husband who gave up his ticket so I could go!) I enjoy going to the games. And our Utes pulled out a win last night. That makes them 2-0 so far! Go Utes! And as we are talking football we might just want to mention that you are pretty darn lucky BYU! You best be saying your prayers of gratitude!

We also had an enjoyable weekend spending time with Jeff's family. His sister Paula was in town and also celebrated her birthday. So Friday night we had a pizza party and on Saturday we dragged Paula around for some shopping. We took the kids to the Gardner Village, they enjoy feeding the ducks.

Gage has said some funny things this week, I can't remember them all but here are a few:
On Sunday morning he said, "I am not going to church today mom, it is not my favorite place to go!" (you and me both buddy)
As Gage is being a weirdo I ask him, "Gage where did you come from?" His reply,"same place as you Mom, .....Grandma's house" Sad thing is, there is probably a whole lot more truth to that then you think! If you come meet my family a sane person, you may leave a crazy one!
Gage has been convinced this week that there has been a horse knocking on his window. I keep telling him that he must be seeing a horse in his dream. We drove past some horses this week, and he asked if they were just his imagination! We finally figured out he was hearing grasshoppers jumping on his window. When we told him this he said, "I am glad horses are not my imagination!"

Gavin is always a crack up. He has been teeting this week and has been a pill, but he has done a few funny things.
When he saw President Bush on TV he pointed and said, "Papa"
He absolutly loves dancing to Kid Rocks song Sweet Home Alababma. Good thing they don't understand the words! But that is both my boys favortie dance song right now. ( I should probably not be admitting that so publically)
He is also 18 months now and offically able to go to nursery. He has been going for a long time with Jeff for quite some time now. But Jeff didn't have to teach Nursery today and Gavin went all by himself without crying! What a BIG BOY!!

Gage's heads back to preschool!!

Gage started his second year of preschool today. He is not going to the same preschool as he did last year, but I think he will like this one a lot! He had a lot of fun today, and this year I had no problem dropping him off. Not a single tear was shed! When I picked him up the teacher told me that Gage is very smart. Hopefully she will think the same thing in the weeks to come when she REALLY gets to know him!

Labor Day

We are excited to announce a new nephew, born on August 25th. His name is John Paul Decker. Congratulations Matt and Jennie! He is very cute!!

Labor day weekend was not all that exciting for us this year, because I worked all weekend. Nothing like spending all my weekends and holidays at PCMC! But we did have a BBQ on Sunday night with my family. We had to do a new picture of grandchildren because of the new additions. I think it is impossible to photograph 6 boys ages 5 and under!

The new additions: Carson

Jackson

As for Gage, he continues to say funny things and I need to be better at writing them down. The only one I can remember this week is, on Sundays I always ask him what he learned in primary. He always says he can't remember. I try to tell him maybe if he would listen he would remember. This Sunday was no different, he couldn't tell me what he had learned. But he asked me what I had learned. I told him that my Primary class learned that we should love everyone. Gage states, so matter of factly, um...yeah I can't do that Mom, that is just too hard! I wanted to say I know Gage, I know!
