Miami Vice or Top Gun?!

This is the first time that I will say,"it's a good thing Gage goes through sunglasses as quickly as he does!" We went shopping and he came across the "awsomest" shades (as Gage would say)! He couldn't choose just one pair, he had to have two!! It is a hard decision to chose between Miami Vice and Top Gun! Good thing he'll need new ones by summer!

Our Weekend

We had an enjoyable weekend. On Friday I taught Gage how to play the Wii. He wanted to be Grandpa. His first time playing boxing Grandpa (Gage) had a TKO. Then his first time playing tennis he almost won the first match, when Jeff and I hadn't quite figured out how to play tennis well yet. We played the Wii alot this weekend.

Then I took the boys to Gardner Village, I wanted to test out my new camera, but the boys would not cooperate!

This is the only picture I got of Gavin!!

Then on Saturday we got alot of yard work done and some house work that needed to be done. Then we went to get Gavin's haircut. When I got Gavin dressed in the morning he was wearing an old shirt of Gage's. It brought back alot of memories of Gage as a baby, all I could think about was Gage's curls that I had cut off on his first haircut that never grew back! I looked back in Gage's photo album and he was wearing the same shirt I had put Gavin in that morning, the day he got his first haircut. I decided it was time for Gavin to get his long wispy strands cut off! It is a sad day for me! Here is Gavin before the cut....
WISH ME LUCK!!!!

HERE IS GAVIN GETTING HIS HAIRCUT!! HE DIDN'T MIND A BIT! HE JUST SAT THERE AND DRANK HIS BOTTLE!
ALL DONE, DON'T I LOOK HANDSOME!

GAVIN WAS VERY PLEASED TO GET A BALLOON! SEE YA LATER!
SO OFF WE HEAD TO TARGET! LIKE WE DON'T GO THERE ENOUGH! BUT JEFF NEEDED SOME THINGS FOR HIS TRIP. I TURN AROUND TO SEE GAGE AND JEFF LIKE THIS! IT WAS FUNNY UNTIL THEY WORE THEM THROUGH THE WHOLE STORE, AND GAGE FOUND A BIKE TO RIDE THAT HAD A HORN ON IT, THAT HE INSISTED ON HONKING THE ENTIRE TIME!

THEN GAVIN AND HIS ATTRACTION TO BALLS, CLIMBED RIGHT INTO THE BALL BIN! WE LOOKED LIKE A CIRCUS!

What do a new camera, the dentist, and a Wii have in common?

Probably nothing, but I sure did find a way for them to connect!! So Jeff needed a camera for his upcoming trip to which I am not invited. I didn't want him packing my SLR around and our digital is old and abused and broken. So we thought we would buy a new digital camera. It is nothing fancy, just a decent, small digital camera. Cost only $160 at Costco. Because eventually I want a digital SLR. So this will do in the mean time. But the memory card it came with holds about 15 pictures! That just won't cut it!
So in the mean time, Gage has a dentist appointment. Which 3 out of 4 times has been a nightmare! So I prep Gage, and yes, I bribe him! If you let the dentist take pictures of your teeth and brush them, we will go to target and you can pick out a new car or a little toy! Gage was totally awesome at the dentist!! He let them take x-rays, clean, and fluoride his teeth. When he got to choose a tooth brush he asked for a pink one!?? They kept asking him if he was sure, and he said yes, so he came home with a pink car tooth brush!!
So we go to target to get a toy, but we stop by the electronics to get a bigger memory card for the camera. Gage likes to play the video games the stores have set up while I am looking. So I am looking at memory cards while Gage is playing. When I go to get him, I notice there are Wii's on the shelf, I do a double take, this couldn't be! I have asked stores how to get a Wii, and let's face it , I am not willing to do what it takes to get one. So this Target employee, says do you want a Wii, and I said Si'. Good thing you were a good boy at the dentist Gage! So Jeff set it up for me last night, I played for and hour or two, and I have already pulled a muscle!
Jeff must feel real bad that he is leaving me behind for 10 days! Because all I said was, "Target has a Wii" and all he said was,"uh-oh, I am glad you will have something to do while I am gone!" So I figured that was a yes, you can buy it! Now I will need to work an extra shift while he is gone too!! I have already been looking at refrigerators. Jeff may just be sorry he ever went on this trip!
I have been playing around with the new camera, here are a few pics!

There is an option on the camera where you can accent one color and it mutes out the rest of the colors, so I accented yellow, I thought it turned out kind of fun! Now if I only had photo shop....!!!

"In Him alone we ought to trust ;He alone can preserve and guide us through this troublesome world, and Iam sure he will hear your prayers"

It has seemed that through the last several weeks, and months that the world we live in is getting harder to live in and more troublesome. I have seen family members struggle with trials, two Aunts fighting cancer, acquaintances fighting for a young daughters life, and many difficult situations at the hospital. My Aunt has lost her battle with cancer this week. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family in this difficult time. I can't imagine losing my mother or my children losing their Grandma, it is unfathomable. I pray for peace and comfort and love to attend to these families.

Send the baby back!

Here is a conversation Gage and I had yesterday:
Gage: Mom are we going to take Gavin back to the baby store?
Mom: What baby store?
Gage: the store where he came from, you say that Gavin came from your tummy, is that really true? Because I think he came from the baby store.
Mom: No he didn't come from a baby store, he came from my tummy
Gage: Oh, well put him back
Mom: Why?
Gage: so I don't have to hear him cry!
Mom: I think he is a little to big to go back into my tummy
Gage: no, now I think I am too big to go back, but Gavin he is still small enough, so put him back

I thought that was pretty funny! It was less then a month ago that Gage had finally decided to keep him!!
Gavin has changed so much in the last three weeks!! He is walking everywhere. He walks like a drunken fool, but he loves to walk. He has extended his vocubulary. He says : yes, thank you, what's this/that, and what (as in say what!, not what is that). He is quickly growing out of the baby stage! How sad!
Our computer has crashed, so I don't have pictures for you this week. I know you are all so sad.
