Wonderful Weekend

We had a great weekend. Tyler and Jill (my brother and sister-in law) had their baby Jackson sealed to them on Saturday. Then they blessed both of their babies in church today! It was fun to be apart of these special occasions in their lives! We are very happy for their little family!

Kennady's first outing, so we had fun dressing her up!!

One week

Kennady is one week old!

This was right after her bath. She is not quite sure what to think of it!

Kennady is just over one week old now! The week has gone by too quickly! She sleeps a lot. But I still can't put her down. I like to hold her whether she is sleeping or not. The boys love her! I still have a hard time calling her Kennady, I hope this will pass, because I would hate to change her name now. We are just enjoying a new little one in our house!

She's home!

Kennady Mae Decker
February 5th, 2009
Born at 8:02 am
8 Lbs. 0 oz.
21 inches long

What a wonderful week we have had! This pregnancy and delivery and hospital stay was different than my two boys and it has been such a nice experience!! This was a planned C-section, so I never had to go through labor and I had babysitters lined up! The anesthesiologist allowed my Mom to come to the OR with me and Jeff, I was very grateful! Other than the panic attack I had in the OR,(it was a very embarrassing, out of body experience! It isn't a good thing when your blood pressure drops dangerously low!), the delivery went very smoothly. They even handed us the baby in the OR and let us carry her out of the OR with us. Jeff and I just kept looking at each other like, aren't they going to take her away from us. In fact we kept her with us the entire hospital stay except for the nightly weight check! It was a surreal experience! I guess that is what happens when you have a healthy baby!! It was nice to be able to spend some time with Kennady alone before I came home! I can't thank my Mom and Dad enough for taking Gage and Gavin!! I know that it was not easy! So thank you! The sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's turned into a no sleep party in Grandma and Grandpa's bed!
Gage has been really cute and gentle with her! He likes to kiss her. When Gage was watching her first bath he asked, "Where is her pee pee?" We finally got one without a pee pee!
And when we got home today she started to cry and he said, "I don't think she wants to live with us!"
Gavin is clueless to the situation. He thinks "bebe" is another stuffed animal! He says "mine" and wants to drag her around like his teddy bear!
I am so excited for this new little baby! This whole experience has been so surreal! Everything from not expecting to be pregnant, to finding out it was a girl, to not being sick during this pregnancy, to bringing her home today! I am already in love with this little girl, she hasn't left my side since her birth! She looks a lot like Gage did as a baby, but also a lot like I did. It is exciting to be able to finally see myself in one of my children!

Baby Decker has arrived!!

Jeff is updating the blog for the first time:

Baby Decker was born this morning at 8:02 AM. 8 lbs even, 21 inches long. Some hair concentrated mainly on the crown of her head that may have a titch of red in it but the jury is still out on that one. Long fingers, skiis for feet, and already found her thumb.

Mommy and baby are both doing great. It is a little differnt experience than the other two since they gave her to us since the OR and haven't needed to take her away from us since. No NICU, no head box, no IV's, no breathing apparatuses, its great.

Gage and Gavin did great around her today. Gage was very gentle and wanted to hold her for a while and then when it was time to go he gave her a kiss. Gavin was kind of interested at times, and when Robyn said it was time to go and asked if they should take the baby with them, he went over to her and was going to take her from me.

Speaking of myself I did great too. There something about getting your first Coke of the day in before 7:00 AM that does wonders for you. I didn't even get light headed and snuck a peak over the curtain once or twice to see the surgery. I know, I know I'm growing up so fast.

I will post pictures probably tomorrow but for now there are a couple on Robyns blog. Just go to the list of blogs on the right side panel and click "Mom."

25 random things about myself...tagged

Tagged by Tara:
Here are 25 random things about me:
1. I don't like shoes. I know most girls LOVE shoes, but I hate them. I take them off the minute I get in the door. I don't like to wear them and I don't like to shop for them. I do like socks though, but my biggest pet peeve is when you are wearing a pair of socks that falls down. They have to be on good and tight and pulled up.

2. I don't iron. I hate it. I spray water on things and throw them in the dryer and call it good. If something really has to be ironed, I have Jeff do it. Not only is he willing, but actually good at it.

3. I don't have a middle name. Was I the last child? The first child? No, right smack dab in the middle. And yes all my siblings have middle names

4. I am very indecisive!!!! I know that comes as a shock to you all. Considering we don't have a baby's name and all. It doesn't help that Jeff has no care in the world, and there for no opinion on anything. But when I do know what I want, look out because I go for it!

5. I am shy. Now my family would not agree. Around them I have no need to be shy, they get what they get. But I am not good in social situations, in conversations...etc. I hate to speak in front of others.

6. I am obsessed with taking a shower. Sometimes I shower twice a day. And I usually will wash my hair both times. I know that is bad for your hair, and that most girls go days without washing their hair, but I can't do it.

7. I hate talking on the phone. Mostly because I don't do conversations well. Email was the best invention EVER!

8. I LOVE to waterski. When I am out on the lake skiing behind the boat, I put everything behind me, I can clear my mind. It is like being in another world.

9.I am a sun worshiper. I love to be in the sun. Put me on a sunny beach and I could stay there all day.

10. I am addicted to chocolate. I eat A LOT of it!! I especially love the big shaped Reeses. You know like the Christmas trees, or hearts or pumpkins? I can pass on the small Reeses, they just don't taste the same.

11. Diet coke.....need I say more?

12. don't like seafood, none of it

13. I am the type of person that will search for my christmas and birthday presents. If they are wrapped I will peak in them. It is not that I don't like surprises, I just can't handle the wait!

14. I am a planner. I need to be prepared. I don't like being unprepared, it is a horrible feeling.

15. I am a worrier. I worry about everything! I got it from my mother. Can't help it.

16. I like even numbers. I always hope that events will fall on even days, like my kids birthdays and such. But everyone in our family has an odd numbered birthday. I wasn't even successful at planning my wedding on an even numbered day.

17. I love holidays! I love to find any reason to celebrate!

18. and to repeat what Tara said about herself, I too am sentimental to a fault. I want birthdays and holidays to be memorable and perfect.

19. I have always wanted to do photography. And it seems like all the craze these days. I guess I missed the boat on that one. But maybe someday when I actually have a husband around I can take a class or two.

20. I LOVE to shop! Love it!

21. Someday when the kids are grown, I would like to be a life flight nurse. I don't have the time right now, but someday.,

22. I like current music and movies. I am not one who can watch a movie over and over, or listen to radio stations that don't play current music. I guess I like to live in the present and put the past in the past.

23. I LOVE summer. Everything about it : BBQ's, popscicles, sun, swimming, swimsuits, watermelon, flip flops, boating, the beach, fireworks, vacations, shorts, flowers, outdoor activites, freshly mowed and watered lawns, snowcones, slurpees......I live for the summer.

24. I love spending time with my family. They are the best. Not only are they very supportive, but they are fun to be around. I truly have the best parents anyone could ask for!

25. I love my kids. As much as I have longed for a girl, I couldn't imagine life any other way! My boys are cute, active, healthy, and loving. They keep me on my toes, they test my patience, but they are my life. And I couldn't be more grateful to be their Mom!!

We have progress!!!

We have made some progress in getting ready for this baby, I am not at the point where I can say "Bring it on". But I am not at the point where I would freak out if the baby came. At least now she has a bed set up and some diapers and an outfit or two is washed.
We finally moved the boys in the same room over the weekend. What a JOY that has been!!!:) We have finally gotten them to sleep around 11:30 each night! I think last night was a record of 10:30. I even found them both asleep in the bottom bunk one night! What was the point of the bunk beds?! They think the bunk beds are jungle gyms and someone is going to kill themselves! Gavin has pushed Gage off the top bunk and thought it was hilarious! Gavin will point to his crib and say, "me, night, night". I say no it is now baby's night, night. Then he will say "oh, bebe night, night". He has no clue what is in store for him.
Well the baby's room is all painted except for the moldings and the beds are up. It is not decorated yet, but that is not crucial. I am just so used to being ready months in advance for these babies that it is out of character to not be completely ready for this one! I do know where I got my ability to worry way too much (MOM) Why didn't I get her figure or her ability to clean?
Here are a few pictures of the last couple of months:
One day I found Gavin in just a diaper and snow boots! He loves to take his clothes off ( I believe he go that from one of his parents, but I won't say who)

Here they are watching TV without any clothes on......again...we have had a hard time getting dressed at our house lately.

Gavin has to have his picture taken if the camera is out

Baby's room at this point

The bunk beds, how in the world to you make the beds on these things?!

Back to life, back to reality.....

Well Christmas break is over, I guess it is time to get back to a routine. This week has been a busy one, and I didn't even take any pictures, but I don't feel guilty. In fact, you will all be surprised to know that we even skipped a few parties this week. Shocking! This last week was filled with a quiet New Years Eve at home. We skipped the Decker party, because I had to work the next morning. So we took the boys out for dinner, then headed home to watch a movie. I wanted to have the countdown at 8:00, but Jeff insisted that we had to watch a ball drop. So we were going to countdown at 10:00. But I didn't make it, I was in bed by 9:50 and didn't care to stay up the extra 10 minutes to watch the ball drop. Party pooper, I know, but I don't care one bit! On Friday we had a football party to watch our Utes play in the Sugar Bowl. We could have started our rock band party after the 1st quarter! What an amazing game! What a fun year to be a Utah fan! We even skipped out on the Curtis party at the Roof. I know it is a shock, there are not too many excuses one could come up with to stop me from eating at the roof, but we stayed home and worked on our MANY unfinished projects! We have been so busy with Christmas that getting ready for baby has been put on hold, and now that Jeff is back to school this week, I guess they will be put on hold indefinitely. So I guess we will see how it works out to have a baby when your not ready for it!

Here are a few pics of our unfinished projects:

I made this quilt in October, (I know it shocks many that I sewed something, but I am not claiming that is is sewn straight!) my Aunt was going to sew around the appliques for me, but she passed away in December, so if anyone has a sewing machine that does that, please let me know!!

This is the dresser that Jeff was making me for Christmas. He got so close to being finished!

The wall hanging I made for the baby's room that needs a frame, but because of it's custom size, Jeff will have to make it! ( it is getting comical isn't it!)

And the unfinished nursery or in other words the room Gage is still occupying because we still haven't figured out sleeping arrangements for the boys! I think we have decided on bunk beds, but of course, I choose a place that doesn't deliver and is only open M-F. Which would require Jeff picking up the beds, and Jeff putting them together! In other words, I need about three Jeff's right now.

Oh and for the baby name we have decided on...........

ha ha fool you! Wouldn't that be wishful thinking! I told Jeff that picking a name was our only goal for Sunday, but that didn't happen.
